Aranda Lee Kuan Yew named in remembrance of Mr Lee Kuan Yew

An orchid named after Mr Lee Kuan Yew was  presented to to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at Istana  on the 24th of March 2015 .The orchid Рnamed Aranda Lee Kuan Yew  produces flower sprays that bear up to ten pristine yellow flowers each. Each bloom measures about 9.5cm to 10cm across. It is supposed to be a complex hybrid with Arachnis hookeriana in its bloodline.

Orchid seed bank developed in Singapore

Neil Chatterjee reported that Orchid seed bank developed in Singapore on the April 20 2009 at 06:59PM. Reuters.

He has mentioned that the Singapore’s Botanic Gardens is developing an orchid seed bank and a section devoted to healing plants.
