Kaempferia pulchra

The name Kaempferia is named after Engelbert Kaempfer, a german physician and botanist in the 17th century.

Kaempferia pulchra is one of the more commonly cutlivated Kaempferia for ground cover in Singapore. The plants of kaempferia pulchra develop attractive lanceolated mottled leaves and subtle purplish flowers.
