Dendrobium pachyphyllum

Dendrobium pachyphyllum is a common widespread dendrobium which can be found in many localitites in South East Asia. It is also a native orchid of Singapore. Flowering appears when there is a change to cooler temperature. The blooms are also fragrant but unfortunately only last for 1 -2 days only.

Catasetum pileatum its distribution range is from Central America to Brazil. There are a couple of colour forms available to grower. The plant produces inflorescence that has fragrant flowers.

Dendrobium amboinense

This striking dendrobium is found in Ambon Island of the Moluccas Islands . It blooms erratically in Singapore. The short 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising from the nodes at the apex of the cane and carry very few hours, fragrant flowers which would seldom last till noon.

Dendrobium dearei

This is a medium species found around 60m elevation in some parts of Phiippines. This species prefer to be grown in warm temperature and bright light conditions. It can blooms anytime of the year . It produces around 8 to 10 flowers when grown in Singapore. Flowers are pure white with a tinge of greenish yellow centre approximate 4 cm across.

Dendrobium Sp.

This Dendrobium sp. is from Flores Island. Inflorescences are from end of the leafless / normal stems. Flowers are placed approximately 5mm apart, open widely to 1.75 cm abroad.
